You can't make your business successful with only the right products — you need effective marketing and promotion too.  Think about it…  Although you may create the best and highest of quality products, if you fail to promote it to your target audience, it will never sell.  As an entrepreneur, you have a lot of work, ranging from creating effective marketing strategies and working closely with customers to checking-up on business analytics.  You need to excel in it to become successful.

Within this article, I'll outline some of the most effective ways to promote your products.  You may be surprised that most of these are simple to practice.  However, all of these require unrelenting and dedicated efforts over time in order to be successful.  Build the right strategies and focus upon bringing them to life.  Don't just sit back to grow your business — get out and work!  Here are several tips which will get you started.

The Power of E-mail

E-mail marketing's the most conventional and still #1 technique in all of the marketing guide books.  Some of the marketing experts say that e-mail marketing offers more conversion than that of social media.  On social media platforms, you have to compete for attention.  However, through e-mail, you get to form a personal and one-on-one connection with your target audience.

Maintain a list — and, keep building upon it — of people who want to hear from you.  You can use a mailing service to educate them and also to effectively engage with them.  If your customers are used to seeing valuable content from you, an e-mail about your latest products and/or a seasonal offer's more likely to convert into sales.

Maintain a Blog

While developing a content strategy, always give importance to blog posts.  You can make use of a blog and/or your business Web site to announce your product and/or share valuable customer information.  You can make your blogs more interactive, by telling consumers about the products, and also include a widget and/or button for the customers to directly buy your products.

Maintaining a blog's a smart way to enhance your SEO — search engine optimization — performance…  Also, to ensure your brand exposure to a somewhat wider consumer base.  While social platforms may limit your access, an established blog can offer you unlimited opportunities to engage with loyal visitors.  Always, take initiative to move your new leads and/or existing customers to blogs, by initiating call-to-actions to join your mailing lists.

Weave a Product Story In-Line with Your Content Strategy

You have to work-out a winning content strategy, if you want to share your product story with the customers.  Even if you're retweeting user content and/or trying to create some engaging visual content to be shared through social media and/or doing bulk mailing, always craft a smart content strategy and ensure that sales are steadily growing with it.  Also, don't forget to effectively incorporate a call-to-action to each post — urging the users to share the post, sign-up for e-mail alerts, and/or even buy the product.

Employ Brand Ambassadors

We're not talking about the conventional brand ambassadors, such as film stars and/or celebrities.  Have you noticed any of your customers rave about you on social media without any incentives from you?  They can be the natural brand ambassadors for you — getting you access to spaces, in which, you can't directly enter/intrude yourself.  Once you've identified such ambassadors, try to get into mutually beneficial deals with them.  Consider paying them and/or exchanging products and/or services with them.

Reach Where Your Target Customers are to Share Products Socially

Once you have a clear-cut understanding of your target group, identify where your customers hang-out.  They could be anywhere — Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.  Once you pin-point the appropriate social platform(s), start sharing posts about your products within each of these channels, with customized content.  Try to make social promotions more visual, so that the new-age users can easily connect with them.

You need to use the native language of the platform, paying keen attention to the context, in order to get people to hear your story on social media and act upon it.  Try to understand the differences and nuances, of each of these unique social platforms, to adopt the best content strategies.

Offer Subscriber Discounts

The discounts and/or offers can work for you, in a smart way, if you wisely develop them as a business strategy.  You can, effectively, incorporate them into other marketing strategies to sell your products.  Try to offer a discount code for e-mail subscribers, which can be a good way to grow your mailing list, and thereby enhancing the conversion rate.

Create Social Contests

When thinking of effective ways to promote customer engagement through social media, it's best to run social media contests, spreading brand awareness amongst the wider audience.  Let the customers do a multitude of things — comment on the blog posts, follow your brand on social media, subscribe to newsletters, etc. — to earn points and/or clear various levels of the contest to grab prizes and/or enjoy discounts.

Introduce an Affiliate Program

If you're struggling to make sales on your own, and are unable to hire and/or maintain your own sales team, the best option is to consider affiliate programs for your product(s).  You can get other people to promote your product(s) on a commission basis.  Affiliate marketing's one strategy, which even the biggest online brands — Amazon, eBay, etc. — are using successfully.

Get Other Fellow Businessmen and/or Bloggers to Share Your Product(s)

You can try to cultivate a group of fellow entrepreneurs, who have products complementing, that of yours.  This can be a great resource to explore when you think about promoting a product.  Remember, this is a mutually beneficial agreement to be entered into — with fellow non-competitor businesses — in order to grow your customer base.

Facebook Live

This appears to be the latest trend on social media…  Live video streaming, is gaining more and more popularity.  So, you can also try Facebook Live.  If you have a Facebook page, with a considerable number of followers, then you may conduct a Facebook Live session in order to engage with the fans and/or customers and/or try to make a series of attractive behind-the-scenes of product making and/or live video testimonials of the customers.

The abovementioned points, are just to give you an overview, of the most admirable methods in-use by many entrepreneurs.  You can think of your own combinations and/or strategies based upon the unique nature of your particular business and/or product(s).
