There's a saying in the military…

Pain is your friend.  Unless, you're 'light infantry'.  Then, it's probably — degenerative — arthritis.

Below, are photos of my left leg that I'd taken yesterday and today.  While I had a somewhat hard time getting the angle(s) right to capture the scope of it, you can still see that shit ain't quite right anyhow.

I'd only just taken the orthotic off of my leg, yesterday, immediately prior to taking the photos.  As such, you can see the marks from it quite predominately.  My prosthetist orthotist (who happens to hold the position of president for Orthotics Prosthetics Canada) advised me that as long as such markings go away within 15 minutes or so, there's not an issue with the device itself.

The device was custom-designed to off-load weight from that knee.  Given the damage to that knee, and its extreme instability, a rather large amount of force is required in order to move and keep the leg in the proper alignment.  Therefore, it's to be expected, there will be some degree of marking and such after removing the device.  Said markings are only considered an issue if they don't go away within a relatively short period of time.

With that said, I've been walking a lot more lately than I have in some time…  My leg, it's not happy with me; at all.
